The loop section is solid 16 AWG copper wire with PE insulation inside a doped PVC outer jacket, with 2 to 4 turns depending on loop and lead-in size. It goes under concrete, asphalt or pavers, or in gravel and dirt roads, for vehicle detection at gates and doors.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe solid wire holds its shape, so in a concrete pour the loop stays on top of the rebar. The lead-in conductors are bound inside the jacket, so there is no twisting. A flex yoke with a 1\/2 in coupler accepts PVC conduit for the lead-in run. There is no air pocket around the wire as with a loop pulled through PVC pipe, which cuts down on false detections from ground vibration. Each loop is tested 3 ways at the factory.
