A self-contained magnetometer probe is buried beside the driveway and opens the gate when a vehicle drives out. It wires straight to the operator's free exit input with no separate detector board, and it works on AC, DC and solar gate operators.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe probe reacts only to moving steel, not to people, animals, heat or pressure. Power is 8-24 VAC or 8-30 VDC. Standby draw is 30-70 µA, which keeps solar battery drain low. The output is an SPDT (Form C) floating relay, N.O. or N.C., rated 1 A at 24 VDC, with a 2-3 second relay time. Sensitivity is set with DIP switches: high detects at 12-14 ft, medium at 6-8 ft and low at 2-4 ft for a vehicle at 5 MPH.
