Choosing Locinox Gate Closers, Locks and Keeps

Closers and Hinges by Gate Weight

Start with the weight of the gate leaf. The Tiger and Lion closers are rated for gates up to 165 lb, the Mammoth-180 and VertiClose-2 up to 330 lb, and the Mammoth-HD up to 440 lb. The Samson-2 has galvanized brackets for mounting on round posts, and chain link brackets are available for the Tiger and Mammoth-180. For powered opening, the Venus and Magnus are motorized closers for pedestrian swing gates. Puma, Dino and Bolt-on 4D hinges cover adjustable hinging.

Sizing a Lock to Your Gate Profile

Locinox locks are sized to the width of the gate frame, and the number after the series code reflects that range. On Vinci locks, for example, LMKQ30 fits 1-1/4" to 2" profiles and LMKQ40 fits 1-1/2" to 2-1/2". Always check the range in the product title. The -9005 suffix is black and -SILV is silver.

Keeps, Adaptors and Electric Options

Pair a lock with an adjustable keep such as the SAKLQF2, or the SHKLQF2K security keep. Round adaptors and chain link tension bar adaptors fit other post types. Modulec-SA electric strikes come in fail-closed (E) and fail-open (R) versions, and Electradrop motorized drop bolts handle the bottom of the gate.
