Description
The EMX IRB-4X2 is a thru-beam infrared photoeye kit for garage doors, rolling doors, parking barriers and other automatic equipment. It has a range of 5 to 115 ft, runs on 12-24 VDC or 24 VAC, and works as a safety, reversing or opening input.
It works with any control board that accepts a dry contact input. The relay is rated 1 A at 24 VDC or 120 VAC. The design is lens-less with an electronic sunlight filter and automatic temperature compensation. The beam passes up to 70% obstruction from fog, steam or spray. A 24° transmission angle eases alignment. The IP65 housing has an integrated hood, a removable lens sunshield, a removable terminal block and a 1/2 in NPT conduit hole, and is rated for -40° to 170°F. Each unit measures 3.6 x 2.9 x 2.9 in.

Before You Order
- Not for applications that require UL 325 compliance. For a monitored thru-beam eye, see the IRB-MON2.
- Power: 12-24 VDC or 24 VAC. Transmitter draws 37 mA; receiver draws 23 mA standby, 17 mA in detect.
- Replaces the IRB-4X. The IRB-4X2 is not rated for 12 VAC.
- Replacement grey hood: IRB-MON2-4X2-HD-GREY. Mounting options: 325-POST-2 post or the EMX Photoeye Vault.
