Description
The EMX PATRIOT-L is a long range UHF RFID reader for vehicle access. It reads passive tags at 18 to 25 ft, operates at 902-928 MHz (frequency hopping), and uses a 10 dBi linear polarized antenna at 30 dBm (1 W). It runs on 9-48 VDC.
Outputs are Wiegand, RS-232, and a relay. Optional versions add Ethernet or Wi-Fi. The reader can store up to 500 tags (5 site codes, 100 tags each) for stand-alone use. Software settings include RF power level, LED and buzzer control, buffer timing, Wiegand timing, relay control, and facility code filtering. The housing is IP65 rated, measures 9.45 in x 9.45 in x 3.82 in, and operates from -4°F to 158°F.

Before You Order
- The PATRIOT-L reads vertically oriented tags only. For tags mounted horizontally, use the PATRIOT-E.
- Power: 9-48 VDC. A 110/240 VAC to 12 VDC power supply is included.
- Mount 5 to 10 ft above grade, at least 18 in from metal or concrete on all sides, and aim at the read zone. Keep the reader face parallel to the tag.
- Wiegand output supports 26, 30, 33, 34, 35, and 37-bit formats. Match the format to your access controller, such as the EMX TRES-400-DEFENDER.
- Relay output is rated 700 mA max. Use an interposing relay for higher loads.
- Programming from a PC uses the TRES Reader Setup Software over RS-232. The TRES-900-USB-RS232 kit connects a laptop USB port.
- Tags sold separately: EMX TRES-900 windshield tags, hangtags, Viper, and Stealth tags.
