Description
The Security Brands Edge E4 27-240 is a smart door and gate controller with no keypad or reader on the unit. Wiegand keypads, card readers, receivers, or vehicle tag readers wire to its 2 Wiegand inputs, and it runs up to 2 gates or doors from 2 relays. Programming is done with the internal programming pad or the Edge Smart Keypad app over Bluetooth. Input power is 12-24 VAC/DC, and a 12 VDC power supply is included.
The enclosure is IP65-rated polycarbonate. There are 2 event inputs and 2 digital inputs for request-to-exit devices, door switches, or alarm contacts. It accepts SBI Flex 64-bit and standard 26-bit Wiegand protocols. Limited-use codes can be capped by number of uses or by 7-day or 365-day schedules. Each of the 2 relays has its own 7-day/365-day timer, holiday timer, and special-event timer. The app pulls event reports with CSV export and loads firmware updates. Anti-passback, alarm shunt, and random code generation are built in. Two-year limited warranty.

Before You Order
- Needs at least one Wiegand entry device, sold separately: RemotePro KP keypads, RemotePro CR card readers, or the 40-TR1 vehicle tag reader.
- For a good Bluetooth connection, do not mount the E4 inside a metal enclosure.
- Power: 12-24 VAC/DC input. Current draw is under 111 mA at 12 VDC and under 60 mA at 24 VDC. If you use your own supply, do not exceed 24 VAC/DC.
- Relay contacts are rated 10 A at 120 VAC / 24 VDC for triggering a gate operator or door opener.
- Programming uses the Edge Smart Keypad app (Apple and Android) over Bluetooth. Security Brands publishes a list of supported Android devices.
