DoorKing 9150 Manuals & Support

DoorKing 9150

The DoorKing 9150 is a slide gate operator for residential, commercial and industrial gates. The 1/2 HP model moves gates up to 30 ft and 1,000 lb, and the 1 HP model up to 45 ft and 1,500 lb.

It has self-setting magnetic limits, a built-in reverse system, ports for plug-in loop detectors and two convenience outlets. Speed is about 1 ft per second, rated for 60 cycles per hour.

Identify your model

The model and serial number are on the label inside the cover. Use the manual that matches your circuit board. The current manual covers board 4602-010 Rev AA or higher. The 2014 edition covers earlier boards.

The 9150-380 and 9150-385 are 1 HP, 115 VAC units. 208, 230 and 460 VAC units use a step-down transformer to run at 115 VAC.

Troubleshooting

Use a meter to check voltages. When a fault shows up, isolate it to the operator, the loop system or the keying devices.

Operator will not run

  • Power LED off: check AC power and the power switch. The transformer may be hot. Turn power off, let it cool, then retest.
  • Power LED on: make sure at least one monitored entrapment device is connected and its input is enabled (UL 325 DIP switch on).
  • Entrapment input LED on: the device has a fault or a shorted wire. LED blinking: the device is not connected or the wire is open.

Gate opens but will not close

  • Check the input LEDs. Any LED that stays on holds the gate open. Disconnect keying devices one at a time.
  • Pull the plug-in loop detectors. If the gate then closes, check the loops and detectors.
  • For automatic close, set SW 1 switch 2 on and set the timer.

Gate reverses or stops short

  • Check that the clutch is not slipping and the gate slides freely with the operator disconnected.
  • Readjust the reverse sensitivity.
  • Check the magnetic sensor LEDs while running. The pickups must be within 1/8 in of the cover over the magnet assembly.

Alarm sounding

  • The operator is in a hard shutdown after an obstruction. Press the reset button to return to normal operation.
  • A chirp every 5 seconds means it has been in hard shutdown for more than 5 minutes.

Common questions

It will not run without at least one monitored Type B1 photo eye or Type B2 edge. Connect the device and turn on its UL 325 DIP switch input, then cycle power.

The limits are magnetic and set themselves. After power up, the first open command runs the gate through its cycles to find and remember the open and close positions.

The board has ports for DoorKing plug-in loop detectors, such as the 9410 single channel and 9409 dual channel.

A sounding alarm means a hard shutdown after an obstruction. Clear the obstruction and press the reset button on the operator.
