AWID LR-3000 Long Range Reader Manuals & Support

AWID LR-3000

The AWID LR-3000 is a UHF long range reader for vehicle gate access and hands-free door access. It reads passive windshield tags and cards up to 25 ft away.

Antenna and electronics are in one outdoor enclosure. It outputs Wiegand and RS-232 at the same time, so it connects to standard access controllers, and uses the same code format as AWID proximity readers.

Identify your model

Troubleshooting

Test the reader on the bench with the LR-TEK kit or the green LED before you mount it.

Short or no read range

  • Aim the reader at the spot the windshield passes, with the tag and reader face about parallel.
  • Metallized windshields block UHF. Use a side mirror or headlamp tag instead.
  • Keep hands away from the tag when testing.

Reads in the wrong lane

  • Lower the RF power setting.
  • Use the loop input so the reader transmits only when a vehicle is present.

Common questions

Up to 25 ft between the reader and the tag.

Yes. AWID requires a separate dedicated supply for each LR-3000, such as the PS-123-3A.

Use the WS-UHF windshield tag on most cars. Use the SV-UHF side mirror tag on vehicles with metallized glass.
