Gate keypads and door keypads for keyless entry. The range covers wired and wireless gate keypads, Wiegand keypads, and keypads with a built in prox reader. Protec Controls carries the Linear AK-11, Carefree 1050 series, Security Brands Advantage and Ridge, LiftMaster KPW and KPR2000, DoorKing, EMX, Seco-Larm and Locinox for residential driveways and commercial entries.
A wired keypad runs low voltage cable back to the operator and connects to its open input. It is the better choice for busy commercial gates. A wireless keypad works like a remote mounted on a post, so it must match the radio in your receiver, such as LiftMaster Security+ 2.0 or Linear MegaCode. No trenching, but batteries need replacing.
Count users and add room to grow. Basic wireless keypads hold a few codes, while commercial models hold hundreds or thousands. Useful extras include backlit keys, time limited codes, a second relay for a pedestrian gate, and a built in intercom.
Post mount keypads go on a gooseneck at driver height. Single gang and mullion models fit a wall or door frame. In cold climates a heated keypad or weather shield keeps keys working. Check the supply voltage, usually 12 or 24 volts, against your operator's accessory power.
Most keypads use a master code to enter programming mode, then you add or delete user codes from the keys. Wireless keypads also need to be learned to the receiver, just like a new remote.
Only if it uses the same radio code as the receiver. Check your remotes and receiver brand first, or add a matching receiver from our transmitters and receivers.
Some keypads include an intercom. For directory calling, look at telephone entry systems.
