LiftMaster CSW24UL Manuals & Support

LiftMaster CSW24UL

The LiftMaster CSW24UL is a 24 VDC pad-mount swing gate operator for commercial and high-traffic gates. It runs on 115 VAC or 240 VAC and keeps two 7 Ah batteries charged for backup.

It has a Security+ 2.0 receiver, MyQ, a main board and an expansion board with monitored entrapment inputs. Two operators can run as a pair over a wired or wireless dual-gate link.

Identify your model

The model number is on the label inside the cover. A CSW24UL has a main control board (K1D8389-1CC), an expansion board (K1D8387-1CC), a Security+ 2.0 receiver and an LED diagnostic display.

Older CSW24U and CSW24V operators use different control boards and some different covers. Check the model number on the label before you order boards, covers or harnesses.

Troubleshooting

Codes show on the diagnostic display. Press and release STOP to exit. Hold STOP for six seconds to clear the code history. Unplug the J15 plug before you cycle power to the control board.

Operator does not run and the display is off

  • Check AC power and battery power.
  • Check the fuses.
  • On battery only, batteries must read 23.0 VDC or higher. Charge or replace them.

Board powers up but the motor does not run

  • Check that the reset switch is not stuck.
  • Check the Stop input. Without a stop button, put a jumper on the stop circuit.
  • Look for an Open, Close, entrapment or loop input that is stuck on.

Gate opens but will not close on the timer

  • Look for an active Open input or exit loop.
  • Check the AC FAIL and LOW BATT switch settings if power is out or batteries are low.
  • Check the Fire Dept input and the Timer-to-Close dial.
  • Check the close entrapment devices.

Gate stops and reverses

  • An Open or Close input or a loop is becoming active during travel.
  • Battery voltage is below 23.0 VDC.
  • Code 91 or 93: check for an obstruction and make sure the gate moves freely by hand. For code 93, also check the wiring and the APE assembly.

Alarm sounds

  • Two obstructions in a row set off the alarm for up to 5 minutes.
  • Remove the obstruction and press the reset button.

Remotes do not work

  • Press the remote and watch the XMITTER LED.
  • Relearn the remote to the control board.
  • Check the antenna and antenna wire.

Common questions

Check for an active Open input or exit loop, the Timer-to-Close setting and the Fire Dept input. With AC power out, the AC FAIL or LOW BATT switch set to OPEN will hold the gate open. A blocked close photo eye or edge also stops the close.

It uses two 12 V, 7 Ah batteries. Replace them about every 3 years. You can upgrade to two 33 Ah batteries with the K94-37236 solar harness kit and a second battery tray. Do not mix 7 Ah and 33 Ah batteries, and 33 Ah batteries will not fit with the heater installed.

The alarm sounds after two obstructions in a row. Remove the obstruction, then press the reset button. Normal operation resumes after the reset.

Press the reset switch to RESET/DISCONNECT, then release the handle on the operator arm. On a dual gate, release both arms. Push the handle back down to lock the arm again.

Yes. The operator needs at least one external monitored entrapment device before it will run. It comes with an LMRRUL photo eye. Use LiftMaster monitored devices to cover every entrapment zone in both directions.
