Description
The Reno A&E PLA-18-20 is a saw-cut preformed inductive loop with a 18 ft loop perimeter and a 20 ft lead-in cable. Typical loop sizes for this perimeter are 3 ft x 6 ft or 4 ft x 5 ft. It fits a 1/8 in or wider saw slot, and the loop and lead-in arrive factory-spliced.
The loop cable is four-conductor #20 AWG stranded tinned copper, and the lead-in is two-conductor #20 AWG. Insulation is cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), 0.040 in nominal. Two extra feet of loop cable are built in to take up saw-cut variation, and the exact-fit layout needs no 45° corner cuts. Splices are soldered, sealed and tested at the factory. Covered by a 10-year limited warranty.

Before You Order
- Model format is PLA-perimeter-lead: PLA-18-20 is a 18 ft perimeter loop with a 20 ft lead-in. Standard leads are 20, 50 and 100 ft.
- Cut the loop slot 1/8 in wide and at least 1-1/4 in deep, widen the lead-in slot to 1/4 in, and remove sharp inside corners.
- Place the extra loop cable and splice in the lead-in slot or in a 1 in drilled hole, then fill the slots with loop sealant.
- Loop sealant and backer rod are sold separately.
- Two loops wired in series should be the same size and the same distance from the gate or door.
- Requires a vehicle loop detector, sold separately.
