Choosing Reno A&E Loop Detectors and Loops

    Detectors and Their Replacements

The BX series is the Reno A&E 11-pin box detector we sell most: the BX-3 runs on 120VAC and the BX-4 on 12-24V AC/DC. Older AX-3, AX-4, B-3 and B-4 listings stay on the site so you can look up the part number, and each points to its BX replacement. Many AX2, BXC and BX-LP models are discontinued with no direct substitute. The B4DP is a single-channel, two-relay unit for 10-35V, and the H-series and RAD-1-PL suit operators that take a board-style or plug-in detector. Compare other brands under loop detectors.

Reading EverLoop, PLA and PLB Part Numbers

The first number is the loop perimeter in feet and the second is the lead-in length. A PLH-24-50 is a 6'x6' loop with a 50' lead; adding "-R" gets the Rugged version in the same size. PLA loops come with 20', 50' or 100' leads, and PLB loops are universal for saw-cut or direct burial installs. More options are in preformed loops.

    Harnesses and Installation Supplies

The LMH802-4 harness and SKT-11 socket base connect 11-pin detectors to the operator wiring. LW-116 single-conductor loop wire is for loops you form yourself, and the 417-0000-01 support tee and LP-300 phasing coil complete the kit.

    Common Questions

My AX-3 stopped working. What should I order?

The BX-3 is the listed replacement for 120VAC installs. If the old unit ran on 12-24V AC/DC, order the BX-4 instead. Confirm the voltage on the old detector's label before you buy, and see vehicle detection for probes and sensors that skip the loop entirely.
