EMX ULT-MVP-2 Manuals & Support

EMX ULT-MVP-2

The EMX ULT-MVP-2 is a two channel vehicle loop detector that runs on any supply from 12 VDC to 240 VAC. It plugs into a standard 11-pin socket or harness.

Each channel has its own relay for presence, pulse or Detect-On-Stop. AB logic gives direction. The ULTRAMETER display shows the sensitivity setting needed for the vehicle on the loop.

Identify your model

The ULT-MVP-2U uses US wiring and the ULT-MVP-2E uses European wiring on the 11-pin plug. Check the model on the side label before you wire a socket.

Troubleshooting

Each channel has a detect LED. The ULTRAMETER shows the sensitivity setting a vehicle needs, from 9 for a weak signal to 0 for a strong one.

Loop fault

  • A flashing detect LED means a loop fault on that channel.
  • Press the channel set-up button to show the fault segment. Frequency too low (under 20 kHz) or too high (over 150 kHz) points to a bad loop or lead-in.

Missed or false detects

  • Hold a vehicle on the loop and set the sensitivity to the number the ULTRAMETER shows.
  • With the loop empty, a moving ULTRAMETER reading shows crosstalk or interference. Change the loop frequency.
  • Turn on automatic sensitivity boost to keep high-bed trucks detected.

Crosstalk

  • Set loops that are close together to different frequencies.

Common questions

Yes. It plugs into an 11-pin LD-11 DIN rail socket or a HAR-11 harness. Neither is included.

The output turns on only after a vehicle stops on the loop for about 1 to 2 seconds. It helps ignore cross traffic in tight spaces.

Yes. With two loops in the lane, AB logic mode gives a direction output based on which loop the vehicle crosses first.

Use direct-burial loop wire such as 16 AWG XLPE, not THHN. Twist the lead-in about 6 turns per foot from the loop to the detector, and seal saw cuts with loop sealant.
