The LiftMaster IHSL24UL is a 24 VDC industrial slide gate operator for gates up to 90 ft and 5,500 lb. A continuous-duty brushless motor drives #50 chain through a 40:1 direct-drive gearbox.

Speed is variable from 0.5 to 1 ft per second. It has battery backup, a lockable 14 gauge NEMA 3R steel cabinet, 4 programmable relays, electronic limits and myQ.

Identify your model

The IHSL24UL is the heavy-duty model. The INSL24UL is the lighter industrial model for gates up to 70 ft and 2,200 lb with #40 chain. Both share one product guide.

Troubleshooting

The IHSL24UL has an LED diagnostic display. Note any code shown before you cycle power.

Operator will not run

Check that monitored entrapment devices are connected for both directions of travel.
Check AC power and the battery connections.

Gate stops or reverses

Check that the gate rolls freely with the operator disconnected.
Check photo eye alignment and edge wiring.

Three phase sites

Three phase power needs the 3PHCONV kit. Check the kit wiring if the operator does not power up.

Common questions

It needs at least one monitored external device in the close direction and one in the open direction. Use LiftMaster monitored photo eyes or edges, such as the LMRRUL, LMTBUL or S505AL. Code 60 shows on the display until they are connected.

Press and hold STOP, then CLOSE, then OPEN until "Er" shows. Use OPEN and CLOSE to scroll through the last 20 codes, and press STOP to exit.

It has a Security+ 2.0 three-channel receiver for up to 50 remotes, such as the 811LM and 893MAX. Use the 811LMX or 813LMX for unlimited remotes.

Pad mount is standard. The MRIN riser lets you retrofit the operator to an existing pad height.
