DoorKing 1815 Wiegand Keypad Manuals & Support

DoorKing 1815-051

The DoorKing 1815-051 is a Wiegand keypad that sends entry codes in 26-bit format to an access controller such as the DoorKing 1833, 1835, 1837 or 1838.

It runs on 12 to 24 VAC or VDC. Codes inside the programmed boundary limits are sent to the controller, so keypad codes do not overlap card or transmitter codes.

Troubleshooting

The keypad only sends codes. The controller decides whether to grant access.

Codes not accepted by the controller

  • Check that the code is inside the five-digit boundary limits set on the keypad.
  • Check the facility code on the keypad matches the controller.
  • Check wiring: red power, black common, green DATA 0, white DATA 1.

Keypad dead

  • Check for 12 to 24 VAC or VDC at terminals 1 and 2.

Common questions

No. It has no relay. It sends codes to an access controller that controls the gate or door.

Only codes between the lower and upper limit are sent to the controller. Set them so keypad codes do not match card or transmitter codes already in the controller.

Mount any keypad or entry system at least 6 ft from a gate or gate operator, or where the user cannot reach the gate while using it.
