Description
The EMX BPE-50 is a thru-beam infrared photoeye for gates and garage doors with a battery-powered transmitter. Range is up to 50 ft on battery power and up to 90 ft with the transmitter wired to 12-24 VDC or VAC.
The transmitter runs on two 3.6 V lithium batteries, which are included, with an expected life of up to about 2 years, or on wired power. This means no wire run to the transmitter side. The receiver is wired at 12-24 VDC or VAC. The lens turns 90° left or right, so the eyes can align on a skewed opening. The receiver has two Form C relay contacts rated 0.5 A at 24 VDC or 120 VAC. Housings are IP65 fiberglass-filled nylon, 4.4 x 2.05 x 1.3 in.

Before You Order
- The BPE-50 is not UL 325 compliant and has no self-checking circuitry for personnel safety. Do not use it as the monitored entrapment device on a UL 325 operator.
- The receiver needs wired 12-24 VDC or VAC power. It draws under 50 mA standby and 100 mA activated.
- Replacement battery: EMX lists Varta ERAA 3V6 2400.
- Operating temperature: -4° to 131°F.
