Troubleshooting

Cannot program

  • Set the 4-digit master code at the keypad before any other programming. It cannot be recovered if lost.
  • App programming works on Android phones only.

Keypad locked out

  • Too many wrong codes trigger the lockout. Wait for the set time, 1 to 9 minutes.

Erratic operation

  • The keypad must be grounded.
  • Do not mount it on a moving gate. Vibration damages it over time.

Common questions

No. App programming uses NFC on Android phones only. Residents can use the DKS Smart Open app.

DoorKing says it cannot be recovered. Keep it on record.

Mount it at least 6 ft from a gate or gate operator, or where the user cannot reach the gate while using it. Card readers on DoorKing's instructions call for 10 ft.
