Description
The DoorKing 8080-057 is a retro-reflective photo eye with reflector, listed as a UL 325 Type B1 monitored entrapment protection device. Sensing range is up to 35 ft, and it runs on 12 to 24 VAC or VDC from the gate operator or a separate UL listed supply.
Relay output with NO, NC and COM contacts rated 1 A at 24 VAC/VDC. It wires to the operator's monitored entrapment input; on DoorKing barrier operators it wires to the reverse input. A blocked beam signals the operator to stop, or stop and reverse. Weather protection cover included.

Before You Order
- DoorKing lists it for all DoorKing gate operators. It comes standard on the 1601, 1602 and 1603 barriers and the 4302 control boxes.
- Mount the photo eye vertically, within 5 in of the gate frame, with the reflector directly across. Do not mount it on the operator cabinet.
- Barrier arms: mount under the arm, no higher than 27.5 in above grade (21 in typical).
- Pedestrian protection on 1601, 1602 and 1603 barriers also needs the 9411-010 loop detector.
- Do not power it from a switched receptacle.
- Compatible with all DKS Gate Operators.
- When the Photo Beam is blocked by a person or object obstructing the gate path the Operator automatically reverses the gate to avoid injury and/or damage to the obstruction, gate, and Gate Operator.
- Compliant with the UL 325 Standard for Safety.
- Customers can add a Photo Beam to each end of the gate or pair it with the Edge Detector. When installed correctly and combined with the inherent Fail-Safe Clutch design this setup provides a safe operating environment.
