EMX USVD-4X

The EMX USVD-4X is an ultrasonic vehicle detector for drive-thru lanes, order boards, car washes, banks and parking. It sees a vehicle 1 to 5 ft in front of it, with no loop in the pavement.

Mount it on a post or order box and aim it where the vehicle stops. It has two form C relays for presence and pulse on entry or exit, with an output delay of 1, 2 or 4 seconds.

The USVD-4X has four ultrasonic transducers on the front and a 10-position terminal block inside. Each transducer has a status LED.

Troubleshooting

The power LED flashes green when powered and turns solid green when it detects an object. Each transducer LED flashes when it gets an echo 1 to 5 ft away.

No detection

  • Aim the sensor at the spot where the vehicle stops, within 5 ft.
  • Check the transducer LEDs as a vehicle pulls up to see which ones get an echo.

False detection

  • Make sure no post, wall or curb is within 5 ft in front of the sensor.
  • Lower the sensitivity adjustment.

Do not adjust

  • Do not touch the tuning coils on the board. Adjusting them damages the unit.

No setup is needed beyond mounting and aiming it at the vehicle position. Set relay 2 mode and the delay with the DIP switches if needed.

Yes. It works in lanes where a vehicle stops 1 to 5 ft from a post or order box, so no saw cut is needed.
