Description
The Linear eMerge Essential Plus ES-1M is a 1-door, 2-reader access control controller in a steel enclosure (18.75 x 14.25 x 6.5 in) with a 5 A, 12 VDC supervised power supply. It is a browser-based network appliance with an embedded Linux operating system and built-in web server, so the system is set up and run from any web browser. The board runs on 12 VDC and holds up to 1,000 cardholders and 8,000 cards, with up to 12 cards per person.
It ships licensed for 1 door and 2 readers. Add 1-door license keys to reach 4 doors and 8 readers on the same board with no added hardware. The system supports up to 12 inputs plus 2 digital inputs and up to 8 outputs. A quick-start wizard handles first setup. The software includes an event and activity log, door diagrams, a built-in card decoder, CSV database import, an audit trail, email and text notifications, and an ODBC-compliant MySQL database with API. Daily backups save to the supplied micro SD card or to an FTP server. The board handles more than 30 transactions per second and up to 8 browser users at once. Integrated tamper switch. Optional PoE with the E3-POE module. UL 294.

Before You Order
- Power: the 5 A, 12 VDC supervised supply is sized by Linear for the controller plus strikes or maglocks at up to 4 doors. The enclosure is battery-backup ready; the 12 VDC 7 Ah battery (B-12VDC7A) is sold separately.
- Card readers, credentials, locks, door contacts and request-to-exit devices are not included.
- To add doors (up to 4 per controller), order the 1-door license upgrade (620-100154-VL) or the 1-door license and reader bundle (ES-1DLB).
- Beyond 4 doors: the ES-U36 license upgrades an Essential system to eMerge Elite-36, which adds doors through EXN expansion nodes.
- Same 1-door controller in a compact plastic enclosure (no power supply): Essential ES-1C. 4-door version: ES-4M.
