Description
The Linear eMerge Essential Plus ES-4MP is a 4-door, 8-reader access control controller in a metal power distribution enclosure with an integrated power supply. It is a browser-based network appliance with an embedded Linux operating system and built-in web server, so the system is set up and run from any web browser. The board runs on 12 VDC and holds up to 1,000 cardholders and 8,000 cards, with up to 12 cards per person.
It ships licensed for 4 doors and 8 readers, the full Essential capacity. The system supports up to 12 inputs plus 2 digital inputs and up to 8 outputs. A quick-start wizard handles first setup. The software includes an event and activity log, door diagrams, a built-in card decoder, CSV database import, an audit trail, email and text notifications, and an ODBC-compliant MySQL database with API. Daily backups save to the supplied micro SD card or to an FTP server. The board handles more than 30 transactions per second and up to 8 browser users at once. Integrated tamper switch. Optional PoE with the E3-POE module. UL 294.

Before You Order
- Power: Linear lists the ES-4MP as the Essential Plus 4-door controller with power distribution. Its output counts and battery details are not confirmed here. On the matching Elite version (EL36-4MP) Linear lists four 12/24 VDC selectable auxiliary outputs, battery charging for up to two 7 Ah batteries, and a fire release input. Check the ES-4MP data sheet before planning lock power.
- Card readers, credentials, locks, door contacts and request-to-exit devices are not included.
- Beyond 4 doors: the ES-U36 license upgrades an Essential system to eMerge Elite-36, which adds doors through EXN expansion nodes.
- Other 4-door versions: ES-4M (steel enclosure, 5 A power supply) and ES-4C (compact plastic enclosure, no power supply).
