Power Wiring

• Electrical Connections: All AC electrical connections to the power source and the operator must be made by a licensed electrician and observe all national and local electrical codes; use copper wire only
• Wire Run: Distance is measured in ft from the operator to the power source; do not exceed the maximum distance for the model, voltage, horsepower and wire gauge
• Basis: Based on standard 115 V and 230 V supplies with a 10% drop allowable, per National Electrical Code Article 430 (motor inrush, brake solenoids and operator requirements)
• Junction Box: A separate junction box (not supplied) may be needed when large-gauge wire is used
• Ground: The green ground wire must be properly connected

Mounting Pad Installation

• Mounting: Bolted to two 3 - 3-1/2 in OD galvanized posts secured in concrete footings (length per local codes, frost line depth and soil conditions); optional pad mounting per Linear drawing #2700-360
• Side Plates: Four 3/16 in side plates on the outside top and bottom, two 1/2 in side plates on the inside top, two 3/16 in side plates on the inside bottom; attached with the U-bolts and hardware provided
• Gate Preparation: Gate must roll or slide freely with exposed rollers covered; gate covered with fabric with openings no larger than 2-1/4 in to a minimum height of 72 in above ground (mesh optional on picket gates with pickets less than 2-1/4 in apart)
• Pedestrians: Operator is for vehicular gates only; a separate pedestrian access opening must be supplied
