BEA MATRIX Loop Detector Manuals & Support

BEA MATRIX

The BEA MATRIX is a digital inductive loop detector for gates, barrier arms and industrial doors. It comes in single and dual channel models for 115 VAC or 12 to 24 VAC/VDC.

It plugs into a standard 11-pin socket. Sensitivity and presence time are set by potentiometer, and automatic sensitivity boost keeps high-bed vehicles detected.

Identify your model

10MATRIXIIS110 and 10MATRIXIIS1224 are single channel. 10MATRIXD110 and 10MATRIXD1224 are dual channel. The 110 models run on 115 VAC and the 1224 models run on 12 to 24 VAC/VDC.

Troubleshooting

The green LED shows power. Each red LED shows its loop's detect state.

At power up

  • The red LED flashes the loop frequency: the number of flashes is the tens value in kHz. For example, 4 flashes is 40 to 49 kHz.
  • If the frequency is outside 20 to 130 kHz, the red LED shows an error and the relay activates. Check the loop and lead-in.

Missed or false detects

  • Adjust the sensitivity potentiometer.
  • Change the frequency on loops that are close together to stop crosstalk.

Common questions

Yes. It uses a standard 11-pin round socket, such as the EMX LD-11 DIN rail socket, or an 11-pin harness.

Match the power to your operator: 110 models for 115 VAC, 1224 models for 12 to 24 VAC/VDC. Use a dual channel model to run two loops.

Use direct-burial loop wire such as 16 AWG XLPE, not THHN. Twist the lead-in about 6 turns per foot from the loop to the detector, and seal saw cuts with loop sealant.
