Troubleshooting

The Smart Touch Controller shows codes on the display and the buzzer chirps. An Alert clears with a new command. A Fault clears with the Stop or Reset button. An Error clears only with the Reset button or by cycling power.

Open and Close do nothing

  • Check that line voltage matches the nameplate, within 10%.
  • Check 24 VDC at the power supply and reset the breaker on the transformer if it tripped.
  • With no external Stop button, a jumper must connect COM to STOP.

Pump runs but the arm does not move

  • Check the hydraulic fluid level.
  • On 3-phase power, check motor rotation. Swap any two AC lines to reverse it.
  • Check the pressure gauge and the pressure relief valve.

Arm only opens or only closes

  • Only opens: the directional valve may be stuck with debris.
  • Only closes: the directional valve coil is not getting power or has failed.

Breakaway arm

  • If the arm was knocked off, reset the breakaway bracket and check the kill switch wiring before you run the operator.

Common questions

An alert clears with a new Open or Close command. A fault clears with the Stop or Reset button. An error clears only with the Reset button or by cycling power.

Read the HTG 320 part number on the label. HTG 320-2 is the 14F, 320-3 is the 20, 320-6 is the 28, 320-8 is the 36 and 320-6 DOT is the StrongArmDOT 28.

Yes, with the optional DC Power Supply with HyCharger DC or the AC Power Supply with HyInverter AC. HySecurity lists up to 300 cycles after an AC power loss.

If the arm only opens, the directional valve is likely stuck with debris. If it only closes, check power to the directional valve coil and the coil itself.
