Description
The HySecurity Hy2NC (MX4018) is a 2-channel interface module for wired safety edges. It reads 10k ohm (or 8.2k ohm) resistive edges and gives the controller a normally closed output on each channel. It mounts inside the operator control box with two self-tapping screws and takes power from the operator's +24V and SENSOR COM terminals.
Channel 1 output wire is yellow and channel 2 is blue; each lands on a controller SENSOR input. Each channel has a red LED that lights when its edge is pressed, and a green heartbeat LED shows the module is running. Edge wires are not polarity sensitive. In the Installer Menu, each sensor input is set to Edge Close, Edge Open or Edge Both.

Before You Order
- For HySecurity Smart Touch and Smart DC controllers. HySecurity lists SlideDriver, SlideDriver VFD, SlideSmart DC 10 and 15, SwingRiser, SwingSmart DC, HydraSwing and HydraLift.
- Works only with wired UL 325 approved edges that use a 10k ohm (or 8.2k ohm) resistor. It does not work with wireless edges.
- HySecurity setup values are for UL 325 operators with Build Year 2016. Build Year 1 operators use different settings.
- All external sensors must share one power source. Mixing 24 VDC photo eyes with 12 VDC edges causes a FAULT 2.
- Connect one edge per sensor input.
- Not included: the safety edge, self-tapping screws, conduit, 16-20 AWG wire and junction box.
