Reno A&E EverLoop PLH-R Rugged Preformed Loops Manuals & Support

Reno A&E PLH-R

Reno A&E EverLoop PLH-R loops are prefabricated loop and lead-in assemblies for direct burial in gravel, dirt and rural roads. The loop, lead-in and splice enclosure arrive joined and tested.

Lay the loop in a shallow trench, hold the corners with corner brackets, route the lead-in and cover the loop with at least 6 in of fill. Detection height is typically 2/3 of the shortest loop side.

Identify your model

The model number gives perimeter and lead: PLH-28-50-R is a 28 ft perimeter loop (6 x 8 ft) with a 50 ft lead. Loops 4 ft wide and narrower have 40 ft leads and 6 ft wide loops have 50 ft leads. PLH-R and PLH are different products. For loops laid under asphalt or in concrete, see the PLH heavy duty loops.

Troubleshooting

Loop fault on the detector

  • Check loop resistance and megger the loop to ground before you backfill.
  • Check that no cable was cut or crushed when the trench was filled.

Poor or no detection

  • Check that the loop is the right size for the lane. Detection height is about 2/3 of the shortest side.
  • Check that the loop is not buried too deep.
  • Check that the lead-in is not run next to power wires.
