Description
The Reno A&E PLH-40-50-R is a prefabricated inductive loop and lead-in assembly for direct burial in dirt or gravel. It is sized for a 6 ft x 14 ft rectangular loop (40 ft perimeter) with a 50 ft lead-in cable. The loop cable, lead-in and splice enclosure arrive joined and tested, so there are no field splices at the loop.
The high-visibility red outer jacket is Elexar 8451 thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) for abrasion resistance and flexibility in cold weather. Wire insulation and inner jackets are cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), and the cables are filled with water block gel. The splice enclosure is high-impact, glass-impregnated plastic with soldered, sealed and tested connections. Reno A&E puts typical detection height at about 2/3 of the shortest loop side, roughly 4 ft on this 6 ft wide loop. Covered by a 10-year limited warranty.

Before You Order
- Model format is PLH-perimeter-lead-R: PLH-40-50-R is a 40 ft perimeter loop with a 50 ft lead-in.
- Install in a shallow trench that holds the loop and lead-in, secure the corners with corner brackets, then backfill with at least 6 in of cover over the loop.
- For new asphalt or poured concrete, use the standard PLH version.
- Not for saw cutting into existing pavement. Use a Reno A&E PLA or PLB loop for saw-cut retrofits.
- Requires a vehicle loop detector, sold separately.
