Description
The Reno A&E PLB-18-100 is a preformed inductive loop for a 1/4 in saw cut or direct burial, with a 18 ft loop perimeter and a 100 ft lead-in cable. The loop and lead-in arrive factory-spliced in a sealed splice cylinder.
The loop cable is four-conductor #22 AWG stranded tinned copper and the lead-in is two-conductor #20 AWG, both about 0.23 in OD. Insulation and jackets are cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) rated to 426°F, and the cables and splice cavity are filled with water block gel. The loop cable is 6 in longer than the stated perimeter so it can be adjusted in the slot for an exact fit, with no 45° corner cuts. Each loop is salt-water soak tested. Covered by a 10-year limited warranty.

Before You Order
- Model format is PLB-perimeter-lead: PLB-18-100 is a 18 ft perimeter loop with a 100 ft lead-in.
- Saw cut the loop and lead-in slots 1/4 in wide and at least 1-1/4 in deep. Set the splice cylinder in a 1 to 1-1/4 in drilled hole.
- Fill the slots with loop sealant, using backer rod where needed. Sealant and backer rod are sold separately.
- Rebar or mesh can cut loop sensitivity by up to 90%. Keep the loop 6 in from parallel rebar and 2 in above reinforcement.
- For direct burial under hot asphalt, Reno A&E calls for the PLH loop instead.
- Requires a vehicle loop detector, sold separately.
